Skincare brand Faace secures three investments in BBC Dragon's Den

Faace is the first ‘does-what-it-says’ skincare range, created with your skin (and life) cycles in mind. Looking at skincare differently to other brands, Faace focuses on lifestyle and hormones instead of skin type. From periods to tired, sweat and stress to menopause, Faace has created targeted solutions for the times when life (and hormones) can get in the way of good skincare habits.

Hormonal skin can be complex with contradictory concerns (spotty and dry anyone?), so Faace has formulated each product with active ingredients to help. Vegan, ethically sourced and fast acting, Faace aims to take the fuss out of skincare. Because when you’re looking burnout in the face, or the period pains are kicking in, who has the time (or inclination) for a 10-step routine?!

With 13 awards under its belt from Elle and Marie Claire to Woman & Home (to name a few), and stocked in retailers like Harrods and Selfridges, the brand is also into giving back and donates to support period poverty organisation Hey Girls and The Menopause Charity with purchases.

Faace is also popular with celebrity fans, leading facialists and celebrity make-up artists. The Crown actress Emma Corrin revealed to Vogue that the secret to her glowing clear complexion is the range’s hero mask, Period faace, designed to help to improve breakouts, calm inflammation and improve skin tone and texture.

Emma said, “I use [sic] the Period mask from Faace. When I’m really busy, I’m bad at picking anything that’s on my skin – it’s really annoying – and sometimes I get little red blemishes, which this mask helps with. It gets rid of redness and it’s transparent, so you can just walk around with it on.”

Other fans who have taken to social media to share about the cult brand include model Gabriella Athena Halikas, Jodie Kidd and dozens of celebrity make-up artists including Wendy Rowe and BBC Glow Up’s Eve Jenkins.

The skincare range has also amassed hundreds of 5* reviews, with fans of the brand raving over the impressive results they’ve seen from using the range. One customer on Trustpilot said, “These are THE BEST face skincare products I’ve ever used, (and I’ve tried so many) - they pretty much cover all issues.”

Faace’s Founder, Jasmine Wicks-Stephens, says, “Skin can be complicated, especially when hormones are playing havoc, but we believe routines don’t have to be. I started Faace when I’d just become a new mum and good routines went out the window. I wanted to create something fast acting and effective, but also easy. Also, I love that we’re owning being on our period, or being sweaty – there’s something empowering in that.”

Jasmine is passionate about raising awareness of the lack of funding that females get in comparison to men (something that is widely reported). Research from the European Investment Bank revealed that female entrepreneurs secure only 2% of venture capital investment*.

In 2020 Faace set out to disrupt the £13billion UK beauty industry with hormone based, vegan, ethical skincare designed to look after your skin, when you don’t have the time or energy to do so. To date, Faace has been self-funded, plus, with investment from angel investors, investment awarded from the SFC Capital x The Red Tree beauty accelerator, as well as achieving a successful crowdfund campaign with Seedrs in 2023.
